I really like the way that most bars, café, taberna all have machines to make fresh orange juice - which is cheap. Talking about cheap. I couldn't believe that Museo del Jamon still one euro items on there menu. A great place to stop for a cheap and quick lunch or snap, while seeing the sights of the city.

I did notice a lot more empty shops this trip. However, there was no shortage of people out and about. Madrid remains one of the busiest cities I know.
So what else did I do. I visited the following towns and cities:
Salamanca (stayed two nights)
~ tbc
Segovia
~ tbc
Ávila
~ tbc
More too follow.
LJ Tips (no particular order)
Tip #1 - A decent tapas bar in the 'tapas' are of Madrid
I been to this tapas bar each time I have been to Madrid - meaning three times after this trip. I went there on my last day before catching an evening flight back to London. The same people as the last two times were still behind the bar. The beer and the food was as good as I remember it.

Tip #2 - A pleasant surprise.
Walking around Madrid on the Sunday, before my flight in the evening. I flight like a coffee and stubble across the the Viena {spelled correctly} Café Restaurante, where I stopped - good coffee, good pastries and good muffins.

Tip #3 - A day at the dogs.
The first time I went to Madrid I stumbled across a square where everyone takes their dogs for a bit of outside time. I spent a enjoyable hour or so there eating an ice-cream and watching the multitudes of dogs and how they interacted - a quick sniff to the face and then straight to the behind for a good long sniff. It was a lot more fun that it sounds - so much so that the second time I visited I went to try and find it again, but without luck. However, I found it again this trip - weren't as many dogs there this time and it's nicest square in Madrid. If you are either over that way, you might or you might not won't to check it out. This is more here for my own benefit.
