Kenya 2011

I got back this week from my second visit to East Africa. This time I spent a week in Kenya visiting some national parks for my birthday. The leopard eluded me, but I did get to see two cheetahs and plenty of lions. I also got to meet a new type of antelope that has become my favorite. Not too mention I also got see some more of my warthog buddies.

One highlight was watching a lioness stalk a warthog, not once but twice. On both occasions the warthog manage to not become a lions dinner. The first time was the best, because there was also a cranky bull elephant (a male) that looked like it was going to walk up to the lion and squash it. In the end the elephant continued on it's way and let the lioness continue to stalk the warthog. Our drive even got excited as you don't often get to see a lion and elephant together.

The following map shows the areas visited.
