Word of warning. If you ever go and see a game at Stade de France, make sure you leave the city centre about 3-4 hours before kick-off. I left to get to the stadium with plenty of time to spare. However, supposedly it is common practice for certain citizens of the French capital to run around on the metro tracks to cause the trains to stop. So what should have been a short journey on the Metro, turned into a marathon. I have never been so jammed into a train in my life. There was pushing and shoving. It was a experience like nothing else.
Other than getting to the game about 15mins after kick-off I had a great time. A convincing win to Australia. It was a bit surreal. The French appeared to start cheering on Australia, once it was obvious that Australia was going to win.
Getting back after the game wasn't much better, but on the plus side they have a number of temporary bars set up on the way back to the Metro station to help you pass the time. The only problem is finding some where to pee.
