I think you tend to be so focused on seeing the world, that you forget what is on your door step. So last weekend I did some London sight seeing, which was really good. I'm going to have to keep reminding myself there is still a lot to see in London and the surrounds.
After a couple of weeks of bad weather, last Saturday was a pleasantly sunny and warm day. So first things first it was off to watch Australia play South Africa in the Rugby Tri-Nations. From there we walked to the Borough Markets (a famous London market, with lots of fresh food). From there it was onto Tower Bridge, across the river and then a short walk to The Monument (a column built as a memorial to the great fire of 1666). For £2 you can climb to the top. There are 321 steps. It's worth the climb, as it give you a different perspective of the London skyline.
